On August 26, 2022, two photovoltaic systems were delivered by AFV in two villages of the Upper Xingu.
The first kit was for the Yawalapiti village and comprised five solar panels, four batteries and an inverter. Another kit comprising two solar panels, a battery and an inverter was given to a village in the Batovi region, which currently suffers from invasions and illegal logging.
Thanks to these small off-grid solar arrays, the indigenous peoples will be able to use various equipment also provided by AFV necessary for the forest surveillance program and use the radio as an alternative means of communication.
This donation has been made possible thanks to the support of the city of Paris (France).
